I bring to our sessions not just my professional skills but my human side as well.

I don’t claim to have all the answers or to be perfect. Acknowledging my humanity allows me to connect with you genuinely, understanding firsthand the challenges of making changes. It's essential to me that you know you are the expert on your own life within our therapeutic space. My role is to guide and support you, not to claim superiority in understanding your experiences.

Adolescent Therapy (Ages 10-17)

Navigating the teenage years can feel like a roller coaster for both you and your child. As an adolescent therapist, I know that building a trusting relationship with your teen will be the most important piece of our work together. Once that relationship and trust are established, we can do great work together, building their self-esteem, managing their emotions, and developing adaptive coping skills.

I ensure that the teens I work with feel understood, heard, and empowered to face whatever life throws at them with confidence and resilience.

Young Adult Therapy

Transitioning into adulthood is no small feat. Whether it’s discovering what life looks like after college, navigating friendships and relationship dynamics, trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, or just overall feeling like, 'Where are the cameras, because this doesn’t feel like the best years of my life,' it can be overwhelming.

I offer a compassionate and supportive space where you can freely discuss the joys and challenges of this life stage. My goal is to help you navigate these changes with grace, building the tools you need to create a life that feels balanced and fulfilling.

Adult

Life, with all its beauty, can sometimes feel overwhelming. I love working with adults who have come to realize that the way they have been living just doesn’t seem to be working anymore. You may feel burnt out constantly, realize that the relationships in your life are not what you want them to be, or feel pulled in a million different directions all the time. We will work to identify the parts that do not serve you anymore and build new parts that will enable you to live the life you deserve.

If you are ready to be introspective and make the changes you need to thrive, this is a safe ~landing~ place where you can put in the work.

Parent Support Sessions

Parenting is one of life’s greatest journeys, and it comes with its unique set of joys and challenges. My parent support service is here to walk alongside you, offering guidance and practical strategies to help you and your family succeed. Whether you’re looking to strengthen family bonds, improve communication, or navigate parenting hurdles with greater ease, I’m here to empower you with the confidence and clarity to be the best parent you can be.

Please note, this service is typically utilized while treating your adolescent, but it can also be offered independently of your child being a client.

Clients who work with me embark on a transformative journey, leaving therapy feeling empowered, valued, and deeply understood.

With a toolbox brimming with strategies to navigate life's challenges, my clients find themselves capable of facing the world with a newfound sense of worthiness and self-compassion.

Freed from the burdens of anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, and external expectations, they are equipped to create a life filled with calmness, freedom, and a profound sense of personal safety, no matter where life takes them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I expect to be in therapy for?

keyboard_arrow_down

The length of therapy varies greatly from person to person, as it deeply depends on your unique needs, goals, and the nature of what you're facing. Some see significant progress in just a few months, while others may engage in therapy for a longer period. Together, we'll regularly assess your progress and adjust our plan as needed, ensuring therapy remains effective and meaningful for you.

If you are seeing my child, how will I be a part of the therapy process?

keyboard_arrow_down

Parental involvement is crucial in a child's therapy process. While respecting that your child's confidentiality is crucial in our work, I strive to work collaboratively with you. This includes updates, guidance on how to support your child at home, and sometimes, joint sessions to foster better communication within the family. Your insights about your child are invaluable, and together, we can create a supportive environment for their growth.

Do you offer family therapy?

keyboard_arrow_down

I do not offer family therapy, but will include family sessions into your child's treatment as needed. The reason for this is that if I am seeing your child, I become a part of your family's dynamic in a specific way, which introduces a level of bias. Good, productive family therapy is best conducted by a therapist who can remain completely unbiased and neutral, ensuring all family members feel equally supported and understood. Recognizing the value and importance of family therapy in certain situations, I am more than willing to provide referrals to experienced family therapists if this service is needed.

How can I use my insurance to cover my services?

keyboard_arrow_down

The Landing Place is an out-of-network provider. The decision to not accept insurance is to help protect your privacy and ensure that decisions about your therapy are made solely between us, without outside influence. However, you may still be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company for out-of-network benefits. I can provide you with a detailed receipt for services, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage for out-of-network mental health services. I work with the service Mentaya, that will actually work with your insurance company for you to receive reimbursement.

What is a sliding scale fee?

keyboard_arrow_down

A sliding scale fee is a flexible payment option based on your income and ability to pay. I have a set number of sliding scale fee spots where I can adjust the fee to a lower more affordable rate. It's designed to make therapy accessible to those with financial constraints. If you're interested in this option, please reach out to discuss it further.

What does therapy look like?

keyboard_arrow_down

To start, we will first have our intake session which will be the only session I do most of the talking. We will walk through policies, confidentiality and to answer any questions that might have popped up going through the paperwork. This session will also be what I like to call a “trial run” for you to see if I could be the right fit for you. You will get a good feel for how I am as a therapist and I will get the chance to learn all about you and what brings you to therapy.

After the intake session, if you feel I could be a safe place for you to land to do the work you deserve, we can schedule on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to start. This can always be adjusted throughout our time together, but I feel with experience, this frequency is needed in the beginning in order to build the relationship and trust that is needed. These sessions are based on your goals and needs at the time. This can include us talking and processing the whole time, listening to music that describes how you feel, playing games, writing, practicing coping skills, laughing, crying… whatever you need, I’m there.

How do I know if a therapist is right for me?

keyboard_arrow_down

Finding the right therapist for you is key to a successful therapy experience. It's important to feel comfortable and connected with your therapist. I encourage an initial consultation to discuss your needs and expectations. Trust your instincts about whether you feel understood and supported. It's okay to ask questions about my experience, approach, and any concerns you might have.

Do you offer after school/work session times?

keyboard_arrow_down

Yes, understanding the busy schedules of my clients, I offer flexible hours, including after school/work appointments. To ensure I keep my work/life balance, these times are not available every day, but I typically accommodate these times 2-3 days a week. Please contact me to discuss available times, and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule, ensuring therapy fits as seamlessly into your life as possible.
